About Lexy

It took me talking to a group of strangers to realize why I needed to do this. I mean I knew, I was on the right track but to really admitt it to myself I needed these women. You know when you refer to somone in a story or think of that time when... (insert any relateable moment here). When you first get out of a long term relationship you tend not to talk so your stories just don't refer to that person. Well I have decided that I'm going to make myself some new stories!

Hi I'm Lexy! I'm writing this blog to try to help me figure out myself. I'm a 29 year old single mother, of the best 10 year old little boy ever named, Killian, he is my world. After a very ... complicated, fun, and lesson filled past (I'm sure you will learn more of), about three years ago I moved back in with my parents to go back to college to try and better my sons life and my own. My parents put up with a lot of shit from me and Killian. They really are saints. As some of you are aware, being an adult with a child and living with your parents who sometimes forget you are not a child but are raising a child can be extremely difficult.

Moving on... a lot happened between the beginning of college and now which is why I decided to write this blog. For the past 3 years I had been dating this amazing guy...turns out he wasn't so amazing. Long story short it was like Jerry Springer threw a party and decided to invite Steve Harvey which somehow my life got thrown in the middle of... ain't nobody got time for that. So in January we broke up.

Here is where my blog comes in... as a christmas gift I had made he and I this awesome gift. I called it the "Year of Dates Project"! It is a packet of 12 envelopes (one for each month...duh) with 2 pre-made dates a month. Everything is already to go! Some of the dates use giftcards, others use cash, others are stay at home dates with gifts!  It was suppose to help us make time for each other with the craziness of college, kids, work, and life in general.

Life sometimes throws you a cruveball and you need to adjust. Since he and I are not together I decided instead of letting the awesome gift I made go to waste I am going to take my friends and family out on  the dates and blog about them! I'm hoping it will give me time to figure out myself and my life ( & graduation is only 1 year away... the real world is coming back around real fast). I just keep telling myself to remember everything is gonna be alright, its just another day in my crazy wonderful life!
